Introduction and Package Contents
A few months after the release of the Nokia C3, the Finnish manufacturer is launching a model somewhat similar to the C3-01 Touch and Type, a phone with a resistive touch screen and keyboard, all Symbian S40. If the C3's first name included a physical QWERTY keyboard, the C3-01 has for its part of a 12-key model, in the purest tradition of Nokia devices.
Qualified entry-level model because of its very competitive price (less than 200 euros), C3-01 has nevertheless a complete data sheet, able to satisfy users looking for a versatile terminal. More specifically, this new model efforts primarily on the accessibility of the interface using "Touch and type" launched a year ago by Nokia.

Before discussing the features of the phone itself, let's look briefly to the contents of the box which comes in the Nokia C3-01 and Type button. Include:

A classic case in which the Court notes the lack of a microSD memory card. Design and finishes

The unit generates real strength thanks to a choice of appropriate materials from Nokia, since the C3-01 consists mainly of metal and brushed aluminum. The terminal also seduced by its finesse and its 11 mm thick (and weighing only 100 grams), making it one of the most slender of the moment.

The touch screen of 2.4 inches (240 x 320 pixels) in about two-thirds of the front panel. A screen below which there is a metal bar made of buttons answer and end calls, while the 12 keys is just below him.
Bands include the phone for their keys, volume control system, standby screen and trigger the camera. The back of the terminal consists of 5-megapixel sensor combined with an LED flash. We finally come to the top 3.5 mm jack, microphone input, USB plug to charge your phone.
Hand grip and overall use
First things first, namely the starting time of the terminal. In this area, the Nokia C3-01 does not go into detail, since the startup is almost instantaneous.
Ultra-responsive at startup, the new model of Nokia then seduced by its overall fluidity, no major slowdown having been noted during our test period. Still, one major flaw is obvious from the first minutes of use. This point concerns the quality of black resistive touch screen, including its texture, since its use is proving arduous. A flick of the finger is indeed insufficient to properly navigate the menus and must therefore support the pressure (at the risk of damaging the screen?) To be heard by the system.

The home interface of the Nokia C3-01 builds on the accessibility and several shortcuts are well integrated in order to make life easier for the user. By default, there are direct paths to the alarm, calendar or notes. A shortcut also allows you to select your five favorite contacts to access them directly without having to go through the directory. The tab 'Go' you can in turn access to common applications, selection of course that can customize to your liking.
In terms of communication quality, nothing special to report, the rendering is clear and the speaker volume quite satisfactory.
It ends with the autonomy of the Nokia C3-01, an area where the new terminal manufacturer Finnish shows respect to his advantage. The course of the day of use will be achieved and without too much worry and 1050 mAh battery delivers.
Multimedia and Camera
Next is the multimedia features of Nokia C3-01. In terms of photographic tool, the device features a 5 megapixel sensor combined with an LED flash. The pictures taken are rather good quality, especially outdoors. Indoors, the quality degrades slightly and there is the appearance of a white veil on certain photos. For night shots, and despite the presence of a flash, the pictures suffer from a serious lack of brightness.

The video capture tool is clearly a tone below the photo mode and offers only modest resolution VGA (640 x 480 pixels). Under these conditions, the recorded footage is a lack of sharpness and tool camcorder C3-01 should be regarded as a recorder extra.
We now turn to the Nokia multimedia player C3-01. The MP3 player offers compatibility with formats MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC +. The reproduced sound is pretty good quality and the presence of an audio equalizer provides a custom rendering. However, quality headphones provided in the packaging leaves to be desired. Do not panic, because the 3.5 mm jack lets you connect any headset on the market.
The video player supports formats MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV. Video playback is smooth and trouble-free cash machine the large files (provided of course, adding a microSD memory card).
The C3-01 also loads and RDS FM tuner lets you listen to the radio wherever you are.
In contrast, the terminal does not include any GPS navigation solution.
