The LG Secret KF757 is the first UMA device, which boasts ergonomic access to television thanks to Orange TV Player application which allows easily zap from one channel to another and to know at any time the content of programs Current TV. Orange customers in France will soon see the high quality content from their terminal Unik, whether at home, near a WiFi hotspot Orange or away.
With a touch screen 2.4-inch TFT CFL, it displays 262,000 colors QVGA (240 * 320 pixels resolution). With only 11.8 mm thick, the LG Secret offers reduced size for a mobile with a true 5-megapixel camera.
The Secret can shoot movies at 120 frames per second (the result is astonishing!), and is able to play videos in DivX format. A multitude of features to customize your photos and videos are also included, such as morphing and smartlight.
The terminal is of course act as MP3 player and can read Microsoft Office files (word, powerpoint, excel ...). The internal memory is limited to 100 MB but it is possible to add a memory card format microSD.
Not easy to succeed in both models as popular as the Chocolate and Shine. Yet it is the daunting task that awaits the new KF750. Like its two predecessors, the new guy also has a stage name sexier than the endless rows of incomprehensible numbers and figures. In short, call it "LG Secret" (pronounced in English).
If the two previous models have been successful as important, it is certainly not because of their technical characteristics, already averages at the time. No, frenzied crowds have mostly fallen for the design of both devices. Hence we suggest that LG has remade the same time offering a mobile with this Secret beautiful but flawed technically, there is only one step. Fortunately, the Korean manufacturer has decided to review it. If the design on which we go back a little later, is still successful, the technical and ergonomic aspects were not neglected. The KF750 features a solid display with a bright 2.4-inch touch screen (262,000 colors, 240x320 pixels), connectivity of Edge, 3G + (HSDPA), Bluetooth 2.0, a digital camera of 5 megapixels (which shoots in VGA, is 640x480 pixels), FM radio, video player (DivX!) and a music player. To enjoy all the multimedia features, the 100 MB of internal memory can be extended through microSD memory card reader.

Appearance and Design
With dimensions of 102.8 x 50.8 x 11.8 mm and its clean lines and sleek, the Secret is a mobile both fine and compact. Its front is a mix of scratch-protected glass and chrome accents. A false note is nevertheless hear the top of the mobile is covered with imitation rather "cheap". One wonders what went through the head of the manufacturer while the other materials used are excellent. Fortunately, the black color is dominant and the bad taste goes almost unnoticed.
At the rear, the mobile displays a battery cover carbon fiber very nice and the sensor of the camera and LED flash. The sides and bottom of the phone are covered with soft touch that makes the grip more comfortable. The quality of construction and assembly is above reproach. The phone does not suffer any game when the slide is fully open.
It reveals the alphanumeric keypad is very comfortable to use. The buttons are not particularly big but they are separated from each other by a small space, which limits the typos. Do not look for directional pad, you will not find them! The latter is present in the screen but it is not visible when the phone is off. Apart from the central button navigation, it is actually completely sensitive. When the mobile is switched on, the keypad to navigate through menus, like the Samsung U900 or LG KF600 to a lesser extent. Each contact triggers a little vibration feedback and a nice visual effect of small concentric circles of blue. These sensitive keys are sufficiently reactive to not pose a problem for ergonomics.
The radius of the defects, we find that damage the memory card is not accessible without removing the battery cover. However, you will not have to remove the battery itself and restart the phone, the card slot being on top.
Another point of constant frustration: the mobile is very sensitive to finger prints! You spend so much time cleaning as you use it. LG partly solves the problem by delivering a gem that allows for mobile cleaning.
Interface and Menu
The 2.4-inch screen displays 262,000 colors at a resolution of 240x320 pixels. He does not suffer any particular problem and is very pleasant to use. Readability in sunlight is virtually no cons. He also reveals his touch ... when he sings! In fact, only some applications actually use these capabilities tactile. We spend so much of his time surfing with touch control. But the first time with the mobile are not obvious.
Between the touch screen from time to time sensitive orders, fingers tend to support more than right on the screen when he is not in touch. Everything returns to normal after a while but we will use the same criticism that the KF750 KF600: what is the real utility of such an interface? The KF600 was the excuse of not being equipped with a touch screen above (just the bottom), but the secret can not hide behind such an argument. It seems that LG just innovates to stay ahead of its competitors, this method of control is not the most ergonomic.
The menus themselves are much like the Prada from the same manufacturer. They are clear and fairly well arranged. Finally, note that the interface is sometimes lacking (just) of reactivity. This is not insurmountable but it can be annoying. Pressing a dedicated side key will launch the five tactile functions (games, music, photos, documents and radio). We lay on the main of them in other parts of the test.
Functions Multimedia (Camera / Video)
On paper, the camera module of the Secret promises as much as the Viewty. In practice, the results are disappointing. If the colors are true, most pictures taken with the KF750 is seen applying a veil of vagueness rather unwelcome. Aimed at achieving a proper picture with mobile, you must be outdoors and especially not to move. Do not rely too heavily on different tests on the net, testers failing almost as pictures in optimal conditions!
Indoors, the LED flash is not used as powerful and almost all shots are unusable. Another disappointment, the interface of the function does not use the touch screen capabilities. We must therefore navigate using the touch-sensitive control pad. We would have preferred that the various shortcuts and settings on the screen is directly accessible by pressing on it!

But the mobile phone knows how to catch up with a video function of the highest caliber. The manufacturer had promised the earth and it is clear that the Secret has great features for video, like its cousin the Viewty. He filmed in 640x480 pixels resolution, which is already not very common. But where the KF750 really innovates is in the way "idle" and "fast", which can either shoot 120 frames per second for the second. The record is truly exceptional for video captured via a mobile. Of course, the result is not perfect and the image tends to rasterize a little case of sudden movement of the camera. But who cares, the videos are widely usable on a PC screen or TV, which is impressive in itself, especially for a mobile less than 12 mm thick.
The video function also offers to film in 16:9, in different colors, etc.. For usability, we'll do the same criticism as for the photograph: The interface is pretty damn good but does not touch upon the resources of the screen.
Other multimedia functions
Consultation with photos and video content is quite successful. Like many things in this mobile, it is inherited from the Prada and Viewty. For images, you can peel off the finger to move to the next. Tilting the mobile switches the screen into landscape mode for better viewing. When you zoom in a tiny square with the whole image appears in the upper left. The user is supposed to fill the cursor which indicates the exact location zoomed. In practice, this square is so small that the transaction is risky. It also denotes a certain slowness in displaying photos from the memory card as soon as they exceed the hundreds of KB A little more RAM would not have been a luxury! Strangely enough, the image browsing offers virtually no opportunities for regular phones like sending via MMS or Bluetooth, printing, editing, etc.. Here, you can just zoom into the image or set it as wallpaper on the home screen. The rest must go through the file manager.
As for video capture, playback is one of the highlights of the phone. Its 2.4-inch screen is big enough to offer good viewing comfort. The player itself is fairly standard but one that retains characteristics of its attention: DivX! For fans of mobile video, there is no need to encode videos to MP4 or 3GP to watch on the phone. When you know how much time can take this kind of encoding, we appreciate the true value of this initiative.
LG also draws on the accelerometer embedded in the mobile as never any manufacturer has done before him. Of course, reading, photos and videos with automatic transfer benefits to the horizontal or vertical depending on how you hold the mobile. But where Korean is hard is offering several games that take advantage of this opportunity. Accessible by pressing the side mentioned above, they are part of touch applications. 6 in number, these games are characterized mainly by extensive use of the accelerometer. We find darts, a game of truth (with a ball made of divination!), A maze, a game of baseball, hammer throw and catch! The handling is very similar to what exists on the Nintendo Wii. Darts for example, turn the mobile from right to left until the projectile is in front of the box set. Then, a wrist movement you need to simulate the launch. It is quite exhilarating to see that the arrow from the moment you actually start, and with more or less power depending on your wrist shot! The games are not all as interesting as each other but you will find out a lot in that interest you. Examples include fishing, baseball and darts.
A problem may still arise: some of these games require rapid movement and, unlike the Wiimote (the Wii controller), the KF750 does not have a strap to secure it by wire by hand. Much to expect one or two glides mobile! Finally, note also that you can place these mini-games in the background of the home page and play whenever you want, without going into any menu. For those who will soon get tired of these mini-games, depth rather limited, there are a hundred paid-for titles, downloadable via the usual channels (Internet portal operator, Gallery, etc..).
The KF750 also stands as a phone. Calls made and received without incident occur. The earpiece volume is good and your callers can hear you perfectly. By cons, autonomy clearly suffers from the debauchery of features, 3G + and the touch screen. If you use many, the mobile will take the best two days
Conclusion (Plus Minus)
Finally, it is less difficult to comment on The Secret as the previous LG KF600. If the mobile tested here has its own set of flaws, the qualities they offer far outweigh. His very successful design win him favor with a wider audience. And it allows more to be excellent in reading and video capture. Finally, he makes a very good MP3 player and provides in its original role of the phone.
But the secret is rather like a traditional mobile deal with some hands-on capabilities as a real touchscreen phone. You'd be disappointed if any. The real problem arises also with the Samsung U900, is whether you join or not to touch control. If so, let yourself be tempted by the LG Secret!
