Philips (finally) on the mobile phone market by launching simultaneously flip the 330 and 630 (color display).
First clamshell phone with color screen Philips
Users of the Philips brand were certainly long time ... The manufacturer had no real news out since the summer of 2002 (Fisio 825 and 625) (!) A peak in the highly competitive today what has become mobile.
So it is with relief that we learn out of 630: the first flip phone with color screen Philips signed. Faced with competition from Asia, a specialist in this type of devices, Philips has bowed to the new market demands, and opted for a phone with metalized finishes, elegant and discreet.
The unit is equipped with 2 color displays:
• A main display capable of displaying 8 lines of text and 4096 colors (128 * 128 pixels).
• A smaller external display (80 * 48 pixels). When you receive a call, the 7-color backlight of the external display changes color at the same time as the ringtone. Note that the backlight can change color depending on the MIDI tones embedded in the phone and not when running MIDI files downloaded via the serial cable (sold separately as an accessory).
Philips integrates a stereo FM radio
The Philips 630 has all the basic functions needed today: WAP / GPRS Class 10, 32 tone polyphonic ringtones (30), midi ringtone downloads, the ability to store up to 100 SMS and save up 300 names in the internal phone book (up to 3 phone numbers per name), T9 predictive text, sending group SMS (up to 12 recipients), organizer (up to 100 events), a buzzer, calculator, alarm clock ... Three games are also present: Tetris, and Smartmove LuckyStar.
Equipped with headphones, the Philips 630 incorporates a stereo FM radio. You can store up to 32 stations to your phone. The FM radio automatically shuts off when you receive or make a call and she comes back when you hang up.
The 630 is the first clamshell phone with color display manufacturer Philips. This phone however is not very demanding for users who do not need to send MMS to transfer via IR / Bluetooth or download Java applications.
