Philips 530

It took over a year wait after the release of Philips Fisio 822/825 for marketing a new phone "type bar." The wait was not in vain since the 530 offers a rich palette in terms of functionality with a lot of news from the manufacturer: FM radio, 65,536 color screen, polyphonic ring tones 32 and camera module.

Display 65,536 colors
The 530 is like no other phone manufacturers. Its round shape, its navigation key - how Alcatel One Touch - and its 65,536 color screen make the 530 succeeded and attractive phone.

Its keyboard is composed of a multitude of keys. In addition to 12 standard alphanumeric keys, buttons answer / hang up, 2 softkeys below the display (direct access MMS and keyboard lock), Philips had the good idea to add 2 buttons placed directly above the Screen: FM Radio button and BeDJ.
Two volume buttons are also present on the left side, and the infrared port on the right side. In terms of connectivity, there are two entries: one for the charger and the other for the stereo headset (Dynamic Bass Boost) or provided the camera module (optional).

The phone stands out with its diodes placed on the sides (2 * 2) around the navigation key and above the screen. Your phone lights up when you receive a call. The effect is achieved.

The main screen 530 is a TFT (128 x 128 pixels) capable of displaying 65,536 colors. The quality of the screen is correct both at the level of brightness and color rendition. As usual, we offer a menu Philips 'carousel' (presentation circular icons):
• Settings: sounds, display, outdoor lights, voice commands, voice dialing, date ...
• Messages: SMS management, MMS, e-mail
• Multimedia: album music, FM radio, BeDJ, state memory, recording, album pictures
• Games and Applications: breakout, converter, calculator, alarm clock, organizer
• Infrared: reception, data
• Info Call: call list, setting the call counters
• Directory: Contact Management
• Operator Services: WAP access and services of your operator.

Priority to the music: Be a DJ and FM Radio
The Philips 530 is music to honor BeDJ integrating function. This editor lets you create music and save your creations made from pieces and sounds recorded in the phone or by downloading new samples on the Internet. A small tracker actually.

This is the first time a phone has a powerful software with no less than 9 tracks. To support the commercial release of 530, Philips has not hesitated to associate with such renowned DJs Carl Cox, Mauro Picotto, Cut Killer, Sander Kleinenberg and Chris Liebong that will provide exclusive content for the music function the phone.
In addition, each month, 2 exclusive tracks performed by each DJ will be available and downloadable from the Philips website.

Another new musical for Philips: the integration of a stereo FM radio. You will be able to store as many as 32 stations. The play is performed by the speaker or stereo headphones provided with the phone DBB. In 2 cases the earphones act as antenna and must be plugged. You can save up to 1 minute radio and select the recording as a ringtone.

Everything is, except perhaps the MP3 format we would have liked to have found a true "music phones".

Camera module
Another highlight of the 530: module Cameras rotating 360 ° is grafted on the phone. Available accessories for less than 70 including VAT (Ref.: A3VVAY/01P), this module will allow you to take good quality photos with 4 resolution modes available: VGA (640 * 480), QVGA (320 * 240) , SQVGA (160 * 120) and 128 * 128 pixels. Most options are present: night mode, self timer, effects (black and white, sepia, blue), zoom, quality (low, medium, high).

Once stored photos, you can send them to PC via infrared and MMS to another compatible phone or an e-mail. Philips did not forget to include the function 'Fotocall' to attach a photo to a contact so that the picture appears when the person calls.

The picture quality is really good both on screen 530 (color rendition, sharpness of the resolution) and PC. You can realize the quality of photos taken from the camera module by viewing the photographs available on the website forum.

The Philips 530 incorporates of course all the usual functions: WAP / GPRS Class 10, IR port, vibrator, hands free (speaker phone), SMS / EMS / MMS, T9, voice recognition and voice commands (15), Memo Voice (1 minute), a directory of 300 internal contacts, alarm (buzzer, bell, radio or memo), calculator, converter, e-mail client, calendar lunar ...
Gamers will return to a game of "breakout" and can download more via the engine of In-Fusio.

The 530 supports BMP, JPEG, GIF and MIDI sounds. Only downside to point out the lack of data cable and software suite for transferring data. No cables are provided for this device or PC suite. Damage.

There was a long time since we had not Philips introduced a phone too innovative. The 530 is an amazing phone that should appeal to a younger audience with its colorful presentation and music functions. Not to mention the quality of photos taken with the camera module. A model that gives breath to Philips believed to be lacking inspiration.
